John E. Wilson, 55, of Nottingham, PA, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Born December 8, 1957 in Havre de Grace, MD, John was the son of Zella Katherine Wilson and the late Billy Lee Wilson. He grew up in Aberdeen, MD and was a graduate of Aberdeen High School, class of 1975. While in school, John lettered in soccer, wrestling, and baseball. Working as an aerospace technician, John dedicated 30+ years to Cytec Industries in Havre de Grace, MD. John enjoyed going to yard sales, bowling, watching the Baltimore Orioles, New Orleans Saints, and NASCAR; with his favorite driver being Kyle Petty. However, John’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his wonderful family.
John is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Marie (Stewart) Wilson; daughter, Kati Wilson of Perryville, MD; sons, Donnie and Andrew Pierce, both of Nottingham, PA; mother, Zella Wilson of Perryville, MD; brother, Buddy Wilson of Conowingo, MD; sister, Tammy Wheeler of Perryville, MD; nephew, Craig Lindecamp of Perryville, MD; and two nieces, Kelly Dawson of Abingdon, MD and Kasey Flor of Greenville, SC. John was preceded in death by his father, Billy Wilson.
A visitation will be held from 6-8pm Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911. A service honoring John’s life will be held at 11am Thursday, August 15, 2013 at the funeral home where family and friends may visit beginning at 10am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the Helen Graham Cancer Center and sent to the funeral home.
