John Charles “Jack” Miller, Sr. age 82, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Union Hospital in Elkton, MD. He was born on December 8, 1932, in Chester, PA to the late Francis Grove, Sr. and Elizabeth (McCool) Miller.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara; his sons, John Miller, Jr., and his wife Linda, and Bob Miller and his wife Diane, both of North East, MD; a brother F. Grove Miller and his wife Arlene of North East, MD; and grandchildren Wes Miller, Matt Miller, Ben Miller, Shawn Graybeal, and Kim Taylor.
Services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, PA, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911. Family and friends may visit 2 hours prior beginning at 10AM. Burial will follow at Rosebank Cemetery in Rising Sun, MD. To send condolences visit www.rtfoard.com

Dear Barbara and family, I just saw Jack's obituary while looking for someone else. I am so sorry for your loss. I am Pete Rawlings daughter, Susan, and I have some very fond memories of Jack. He could always make me laugh. I remember one winter night when I was in high school and my date brought me home only to get stuck in our drive. Jack was at the house for the regular poker game and teased me about dating a city (Elkton) boy and how they could not drive in-snow and my date would just have to figure out how to get out on his own. After I was almost in tears, he gave me a hug and they all went out in the snow and dug my date out. He teased me about the incident for years and we always had a good laugh. He was a good friend to my Dad and special to me.
