Dear Barbara and family, I just saw Jack's obituary while looking for someone else. I am so sorry for your loss. I am Pete Rawlings daughter, Susan, and I have some very fond memories of Jack. He could always make me laugh. I remember one winter night when I was in high school and my date brought me home only to get stuck in our drive. Jack was at the house for the regular poker game and teased me about dating a city (Elkton) boy and how they could not drive in-snow and my date would just have to figure out how to get out on his own. After I was almost in tears, he gave me a hug and they all went out in the snow and dug my date out. He teased me about the incident for years and we always had a good laugh. He was a good friend to my Dad and special to me.

I was so very sorry to hear of the passing of Jack. He was my mentor. I enjoyed observing and learning from him. They don't make 'em like him any more. My thoughts are with you, Barbara!

Barbara and family, Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. It was truly and honor and privilege to have worked with Jack during my early years on the MFB Board of Directors. He was truly the "Voice of Agriculture" in the halls of the General Assembly. Take care,
