John C. Boulden, age 82, of Newark, DE passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2018 surrounded by his family. Born December 23, 1935, John was the oldest of five sons to the late David and Lucy (Dunsmore) Boulden.
John was a diehard Chevy enthusiast. He enjoyed going to car shows to see the classic cars and muscle cars but he was always particularly fond of Chevys. He also enjoyed going to flea markets and taking his family out to eat. To John, every day was an adventure. If you couldn’t find him in his garage tinkering with new projects and creations, he was likely traveling the roads with his family often with no destination in mind. John held his family above all else, he cherished his time spent with them and loved taking care of them, especially teaching the children about the essentials of life and how to have fun with it.
John is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Lillie E. Boulden; two daughters, Cynthia Boulden and Renee Dollar and her husband, Trent; son, John A. Boulden; step-son, Edward Crooks; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and his two brothers, Butch and Eugene Boulden. Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lucy Hitchcock; two brothers, Paul and David Boulden; and his step-brother, Lou Boulden.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at 12pm on Friday, February 16, 2018 at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:30am. Burial will follow at White Clay Creek Cemetery. To send online condolences, please visit www.rtfoard.com.
