John Anthony Desante

August 17, 1939 - January 10, 2022

John Anthony Desante, age 82, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022. He was born on August 17, 1939 in Chester, PA to the late Rose Desante.

John worked for Sun Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company in Chester, PA for thirty years before retiring. He was an avid sports fan, who loved the Oakland A’s and the Philadelphia Eagles. John enjoyed yard work and vacationing in Wildwood, NJ. He will be dearly missed.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Mary C. Desante of Rising Sun, MD; and daughter, Rose Desante of Lancaster Township, PA. He is preceded in death by his mother, Rose Desante.

My father William (Billy) had lost touch with John (he referred to as Johnny), his first cousin who he had very fond memories from their earlier years together. Their moms were sisters. He had searched for John over the years and hoped to reunite but with no luck. I stumbled upon his obituary while doing research. Alas, they are reunited together.
