Joel Colgan Orr

Joel Colgan Orr, 18, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away suddenly at his home May 23, 2012.

Born in Elkton, MD on July 17, 1993, Joel was the son of Joseph Wilson Orr, III and Toni Wiley Orr. He was employed at North American Industrial and worked in the environmental division. Joel loved music and was a talented guitar player. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a proud uncle.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister Justin Orr of Rising Sun, brother Jared Orr, also of Rising Sun; his grandmothers, Patricia Wiley and Betty Burton; his niece Jayde. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry Wiley, Jr. and Joseph Orr, Jr.

A celebration of Joel’s life will be held at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911 on Tuesday May 29, 2012 from 6 – 8:00 p.m. Burial will be private. Charitable contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.

I am deeply saddened by the sudden death of Joel. My heart goes out to his family and his friends. Joel always made everyone laugh and he had a special way of making you feel important. We all will miss Joel and he will truely remain in our hearts. He is at peace now with our Lord. My the Lord give comfort to Joels family.

Seeing his smile in pictures is helping, because you can't help but smile with him. Thats how I will remember him. God Bless all who know and love Joel.

My sympathies to the family and friends of Joel Orr. It is always difficult when someone so young and full of life passes away. We can look to our Heavenly Father, the God of all comfort and tender mercies, at times such as these for He truly understands. He promises through His Word the Bible to undo the suffering and pain that death causes. He will swallow up death forever. No more will we be separated by sickness or death, but we will enjoy endless life on a Paradise earth where many joyous reunions will take place when billions dead return to life. This is a guarantee that God has made and He never lies.- 2 Corinthians 1:3,4; Isaiah 25:8 & Revelation 21:3,4

Joel was a bright light! He shines now from above, looking over his friends and family. I'm so sorry for your loss. Our deepest sympathy goes out to you all.

I and my family, Jensyn , Taylor, Mark and Travis all send our love, thoughts and prayers to the Orr family. We have wonderful memories of Joel and are very blessed that he was a part our lives. As sad as we are knowing that he is not in our world anymore, we take comfort in knowing that he is now safe with our Lord in heaven and we will see him again when we are called home.
