Joan “Joanne” Ann Pryor, age 86, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. She was born on January 30, 1937 in Elkton, MD to the late James Dowdell and Adeline (Ryan) Dowdell.

Joanne work at Union Hospital in Communications Services for thirty-six years before retiring. During her free time, she enjoyed doing crafts, such as ceramics. Joanne’s favorite thing of all was doing karaoke, singing and dancing. She loved her cats and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Joanne will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Joanne is survived by her three daughters: Victoria Creswell and her husband, Richard of Elkton, MD, Charlene Hoover and her husband, Edwin of North East, MD, and Diane McMahon and her husband, Dave of Elkton, MD; three sisters: Betty Wilson of Elkton, MD, Delores Snoll of Elkton, MD, and Pat Kuzepski, of Bear, DE; eleven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Pryor.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, August 21, 2023 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21911 where family and friends can begin visiting at 10:00AM. Burial will follow at St. Rose of Lima in Chesapeake City, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “Amedisys Hospice” and send in care of the funeral home.
