Jennifer Elizabeth Shifflett

March 29, 1978 - December 27, 2020

Jennifer graduated Elkton High School in 1996 and then Cecil Community College in 1998. She worked at MBNA, Bank of America and Citi Bank during her career. Jennifer was a huge Disney fan, loved taking trips to Disney, Hilton Head Island and traveling with Wrinkie. Aunt Jennie will be lovingly remembered by all of her nieces and nephews.

Jennifer is survived by her parents, Daniel and Kathleen Shifflett; brother, Daniel Matthew Shifflett (Kate) of Newark, DE; nieces: Scarlet, Savannah Shifflett of Newark, DE; nephew, Jeremy Shifflett of Newark, DE; grandniece, Elena Shifflett of Newark, DE and her very best friend in the whole world, Jamie Pippen.

A celebration of Jennifer’s life will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “Victory Junction Camp” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921.

My deepest sympathy to the Shifflett family. I had the pleasure of working closely with Jenn for a good part of 2020 and found her to be such an honest, polite and personable colleague. She was well liked by our team and we all hoped all of our projects had someone like Jenn. Please note Jenn has made an impression that is long lasting and I will think of her often.

I am very sorry for your loss. Jennifer was a great team mate and I enjoyed working with her at BofA.

I am so fortunate to have worked with Jenn so much over the past year: learned from her expertise, seen her maintain her positivity and humor when unexpected obstacles arose, and marveled at the spirit that she inspired in her team. God definitely has a beautiful new Angel. Jenn would light up a room with her smile, her humor, her bags of candy, her pens and all her notebooks! Jenn was an amazing boss, mentor, and friend. She always wrote us little notes just to say thank you. I will never forget all the time she spent teaching us to to overcome challenges. She loved loved loved Disney, and would spread cheer and good times to everyone. Her voice and jokes would always put us in a good mood. She cherished her team, her friends, and her family. She had a way of making everyone around her feel welcomed and special. To her family, my deepest sympathies. Jenn will be truly missed.

Jenn was not only a colleague of mine (for the better portion of my 20 plus year career in the financial industry), she was my dear friend. Jenn had a special connection with my daughter before she was even born. She's always spoiled Sara rotten every chance she could get! Jenn and Angie put together the only baby shower I had during my pregnancy as we had just moved to a new city and had no family in the area. Jenn was always so thoughtful, loving and supportive like that. This picture of Jenn and my daughter embodies their loving relationship. Jenn was so happy, bubbly, goofy, super smart, amazing and an all around beautiful person inside and out...I feel super blessed to have had her in my life! This loss is felt deeply by myself, my family and I'm sure by many many others... My sincerest condolences to her surviving family, friends and colleagues... She was taken from us way too soon! She will be missed so very much and will live on in our hearts always and forever

Jenn was such a beautiful person and she would always answer the phone "Hey friendly." I only got to know her for a little bit of time but she had the most positive attitude. She will be missed by many. My heart goes out to her family.

Jenn was an excellent leader, superb teammate, always readily available and accessible, and a friend. She preferred TUL pens from Office Depot- extra fine point- only kind I use now. Thank you, Jenn, for all you meant and mean to us.

This news is just heartbreaking; my heart goes out to all of Jenn's friends and family. I know Jenn's love of all things Disney was the stuff of legends, and I'll never forget what I thought was her mind-bogglingly complex notebook organization system that seemed to use every single color of what must have been a 72-color package of highlighters and markers. But most of all, I will remember how I always knew exactly where I stood with Jenn based on what she said next to the words "my friend". When she agreed with me or supported what I had said or done, she was the best cheerleader, "great job, my friend". If she just needed to vent the frustrations of the day, it was something more like, "This day has been a doozy, my friend". And when I did or said something she definitely did not approve of, it would sound more like, "Valerie, we need to talk my friend...". At the end of the day, friendship always came first and that's what I'll remember. You will be missed, my friend.
