Jeffry Donald Crowl of Rising Sun, MD, age 72, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. He was born in Harrisburg, PA on August 7, 1953, to the late Robert Lee Crowl and Miriam Lovina (Cassel) Crowl.

Jeff served in the United States Marines for 20 years, after which he returned home to live near his family in Maryland. When Jeff wasn’t watching a game of baseball or golf, he enjoyed a crossword puzzle, KENO, a good book, and his leisure time at home. Jeff will be remembered by his family and friends for his ability to find laughter in any situation, and for his head chef skills during many a pig roast/yard party.

Jeff spent the last days of his life waking up each morning to watch the sunrise rise, recognizing how appreciative he was of each day that he was able to do so.

Jeff is survived by his daughter, Ashley Crowl and her husband, Jon; by his sisters: Lise Brown (Barry) and Renee Crowl; his nieces: Tricia Goodin and Rachel Brown; and his nephew: Robert Lee Crowl III. In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by his older brother: Robert “Bob” Lee Crowl II.

A celebration of Jeff’s life with his family and friends will be held at the American Legion Post 194 in Rising Sun, MD, on Sunday, August 9, 2026 at 1:00 PM. Burial will be held privately.
