Dad. Brother. Grandpa. The Greatest. Jeffrey Lynn Lehr, 75, of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully March 13, 2025 after a brief illness. He was born December 30, 1949, in York, PA, to the late Warren Penn Lehr Jr. and Marianna (Strickhouser) Lehr.
Jeff was raised in the Landenberg area and graduated from Avon Grove High School in 1967. He attended the Pennsylvania State University, where he graduated with a degree in business. Jeff worked in industrial tool sales for most of his career, at one point owning his own business.
Jeff is best defined by the unconditional love he held for his family, his humor and wit, and his joyful spirit. He loved Bethany Beach, the Phillies, and Penn State football and wrestling, which he enjoyed watching with his son and grandson. Jeff could build or fix anything, from cars to bikes to broken hearts. He built the family’s home in Fair Hill, where he devoted many hours to tending his fruit tree orchard. Jeff loved great music, especially the Motown that he and his daughter would dance to. He carried a song in his heart everywhere he went and often sang it aloud.
Two decades ago, Jeff and his daughter took up cycling and rode thousands of miles together, including two Five Boro Bike Tours through New York City. They were often joined by his beloved brother Daryl, with whom he was blessed to share a lifelong friendship and bond.
Jeff truly had a servant’s heart and was a man of deep faith all his life; he was an active member of Moore’s Chapel Global Methodist Church for nearly 50 years.
The greatest loves of Jeff’s life were his grandchildren and he was a very special part of their daily lives. By guiding and cheering them on in sports, spending time with them before and after school, and sharing the countless gifts of his love, knowledge, and talents with them, they are his legacy.
Jeff is survived by his children: Ryan Lehr (Kristen) and Morgan Lehr Miller; his grandchildren: Kendall, Asher, Davis, and Eleanor; Ginny Lehr; his brother: Daryl Lehr (Nancy), his sister: Shari Alexander; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his late parents, he is preceded in death by his brother: Mark Lehr.
A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held on Friday, April 11th at Moore’s Chapel Global Methodist Church, at 11 a.m. Family will be accepting guests at 10 a.m. for visitation. Memorial contributions can be made to Moore’s Chapel Global Methodist Church and the Rising Sun Little League.
