Jean Stewart Woodward, 79, of Elkton, MD passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Union Hospital. Born September 1, 1933 in Dalton, MA, Jean was the daughter of the late George Arthur and Lillian (Clapp) Stewart.
Jean was an avid member of the North East VFW where she served in the Ladies Auxiliary and held various offices throughout her membership. She was also active in the American Legion, Post 15 in Elkton, MD. Jean enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers and making pillow dolls. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, playing Bingo, and working on jigsaw puzzles. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Jackie Franklin, Jackie Grier, Donna, and Mary Lou; sons, Jim and William; grandchildren, Richard, Megan, Ray, Nicholas, Christopher, Joseph, Morgyn, Kelsea, Jesse, Cody, Kelly, Jason, and Alan; several great grandchildren and her sister, Evelyn Adkins.
A memorial service honoring Jean’s life will be held at 11am Saturday, August 3, 2013 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921. Family and friends may visit beginning at 10am. Burial will be private and at the family’s convenience.
