Jean Lucille Groscup, age 99, of Street, MD, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023. She was born on February 4, 1924, in Newark, DE, to the late Lee Lewis and Martha (Strickland) Lewis.

Jean dedicated 17 years of her life as a teacher at Baltimore County Public Schools before retiring. She had an unwavering passion for education and was a lifelong learner herself. Jean earned Master’s degrees from both the University of Delaware and Johns Hopkins University. Beyond her academic pursuits, she held a deep love for horses and cared for many throughout her years. Reading was another joy in Jean’s life; she voraciously consumed any literature she could get her hands on.

Jean Lucille Groscup will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Jean is survived by her son, Richard Groscup, Jr., and his wife, Debra; her grandson, Lee Groscup and his wife, Kaitlyn; and three great-grandchildren: Grasen Groscup, Logan Groscup, and Alaina Groscup.

Jean is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Groscup, Sr.
