I was so sorry to hear that your mom...my friend, Jean, had died. I had just heard that she had cancer.....We had continued to exchange Christmas notes and I wanted her to come down and visit us in FL. She was very proud of all of you and loved her grandkids. We had great adventures at BMHS. She was wonderful....fun to be around....had a lot of laughs together. I love this picture of her because it shows the joy that she had for life. I know that you will all miss her. Please come and visit us if you are ever in FL. Pam, a specail note to you. I'd love to hear from you when you have a chance. Gale and Jim Lynch

Dear Ritter Family, I am sorry for your loss and you will be in my prayers. No matter what was happen in school or at the ballfield Jean would always be smiling. She was the first person I would see when I come to school late, that is after she call to wake me up for school to tell me to get there. She always treat you the same no matter what you did or who you were. I thank people like your mom and dad today becasue if it was not for them the kids of Chespaeake City would not be the people we are today. They were roll models for us and I believe I volunteer becasue of people like them. God bless Bruce Davis

Jean's caring heart to our family as well as many others is well known. She was a caregiver for my children while I worked and I will be forever grateful. One of my memories however is about a baby rabbit. Jean and I talked about this again when she stopped in to tell me the cancer was back. We cried and hugged and talked and then got around to the rabbit. When my children were small our dog, Nicky, who was famous for bringing things home brought home a baby rabbit. We were feeding it with a baby bottle. On Monday when I took the kids to Jean's nothing would do but we take the rabbit with them. We were feeding it baby formula. The bridge was out that day and Jean went all the way around to Elkton by the Summit bridge to get more baby formula!! When I got home from work she said the price of caregiving had been raised due to the rabbit!! We laughed until we cried. I will miss her. I will miss the door opening and her just walking in hollering " are you cleaning the attic again". Something I have been doing for 50 years and never accomplished. Love you Jean. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Dear Family of Jean, I am so saddened by the passing of Jean. We go back many years and many memories. My husband (Marty Davis) and I always enjoyed being around Jean and Jack and the kids. Jean always had a smile and I always enjoyed talking with her. Although we haven't seen each other regularly over the last years I still will always remember her and feel that I have lost a special friend. She loved her family so much and am so glad that she got to do so many special things with them. I know you will cherish her memory as all that knew her will. God Bless All of You.

Our thoughts and many prayers are with your family during this very difficult and sad time. Your mom was a very special person indeed - caring, compassionate, positve and always willing to help others. She was a second mom to many of the neighborhood kids including Lee for which I will always be grateful. I know that she will be missed by us all and now is a special angel in heaven. With our deepest sympathy and love - Betsy and Lee
