Jean H. Creswell, age 93, of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 22, 2026. She was born in Minneapolis, MN on March 6, 1933, to the late Gerald B. Johnson and Maragret Alice (Leglar) Johnson.
Jean was a loving wife, devoted friend, and caring soul whose warmth and kindness touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She passed away leaving behind countless cherished memories and a legacy of love, friendship, and generosity. Jean had a passion for taking photos and rarely missed an opportunity to capture life’s special moments. Whether it was a family gathering, a celebration with friends, or an ordinary day made extraordinary by the people she loved, she preserved memories that will be treasured for generations.
She took great pride in her home, always keeping it spotless and welcoming. Her home reflected the care and attention she gave to everything in her life. Family and friends knew they were always welcome and would be greeted with warmth, laughter, and genuine hospitality. Jean loved people. She cherished her family, treasured her friendships, and never hesitated to lend a helping hand or offer a kind word. Her caring nature and compassionate heart made others feel valued and loved.
She was known for many talents, but few could pick a crab as skillfully as Jean. It was one of those simple joys that brought family and friends together and created memories filled with laughter and good times. Jean also enjoyed restoring antique furniture, finding beauty in pieces that others might overlook. One of Jean’s favorite traditions was spending Wednesday evenings with her beloved husband, George, at the Moose Lodge in Elkton. Those nights were filled with friendship, community, and the simple happiness of being together.
Jean is survived by her daughters; Nancy Sligh (Gerald) and Cindy Pearman (Wayne); grandchildren: Christiana Hensley (Jeremy), Robbie Pearman (Barb), Jackie Horsey (Eric), and Heather Santo (Brian); great-grandchildren: Aiden, Joi, Gia, Landon, Ava, Jared and Keira; sister, Joann Faulls; and brother-in-law, Clifton Freeman. In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her husband, George Creswell, and granddaughter, Kelly Pearman.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 12PM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where friends and family may begin visiting at 11AM. An inurnment will follow at Sharp’s Cemetery.
