Jason Matthew Willey, Sr., age 38, of Newark, Delaware, passed away on October 29, 2024. He was born on January 20, 1986, in Newark, DE, to Sharon (Hamm) Willey and the late Kevin Willey. He was the beloved husband of Lauren Campbell and a devoted father.
Jason graduated with the class of 2004 from Elkton High School, where he excelled as a football player, leaving a lasting impression on the field and with his teammates. He later attended Williamson College of the Trades, continuing his passion for football and honing his skills in trades that would shape his career.
For 13 years, Jason was a valued employee at Terumo Medical Corporation, where he developed a wealth of expertise and friendships. Recently, he had embarked on a new role as a Maintenance Technician at AstraZeneca, where he brought his dedication and work ethic to a field he truly enjoyed.
Jason loved boating, tinkering with motors, fishing, crabbing and anything that let him spend time outdoors near the shore. An adventurous spirit, he enjoyed riding dirt bikes and watching races, relishing the thrill and camaraderie of the sport. Fitness was also an important part of his life, and he was dedicated to weightlifting and staying active. As a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, Jason never missed a chance to cheer on his team. He was also an avid fan of “Game of Thrones” and “House of the Dragon,” drawn to the fantasy and storytelling of those worlds.
Above all, Jason was a dedicated family man. He was a loving and present father to his children, Jason Willey, Jr., and Juliette Willey, and they were the pride and joy of his life. His family remembers him as strong-willed, with a determination that saw him through many challenges and a heart full of love for those closest to him.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Lauren Campbell; his son, Jason Willey, Jr.; his daughter, Juliette Willey; his mother, Sharon Willey; his siblings, Mike Willey and Kristen Willey; his grandmothers, Judith Young and Ruthanne Willey; his nieces, Brianna Willey and Makenna Valadares; and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Kevin Willey.
