Janice Marie Shivery, 77, of Conowingo, MD passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015.
Born January 1, 1938 in Chester, PA, Janice was the daughter of the late Bernard B. Williams and the late Della Mae (Guy) Freeman. She enjoyed gardening where she was a member of her local gardening club and she was an avid birdwatcher. However, Janice’s greatest joy was her time spent with her loving family and friends, especially with her grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her husband, Gerald L. Shivery, three sons, Brian M. and Toni Shivery of Rising Sun, MD, Daniel K. and Vicki Shivery of Rising Sun, MD, and Kevin W. and Stephanie Shivery of North East, MD; daughter, Brenda M. and Mike Cudmore of Bel Air, MD; nine grandchildren, Kimberly, Ashley, and Brittany Cudmore, Connor, Shannon, Brendan, Kaitlyn, Lauren, Braeden Shivery; brother, Bernard Williams of Philadelphia, PA; and sister, Ellen Martin of Oxford, PA.
Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the Ray of Hope Mission and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911.

My sincere condolences to the Shivery and Cudmore family. Many times over the years I have seen people driving down our road and slow down to look and sometimes comment on Jan's beautiful garden and yard. It was like they couldn't believe how pretty it was. Most of the time when she would be in her garden she would have her cat out in the yard with her, he would never wonder far from her.
