Janice Faye Louise McCoy of Quarryville, PA, age 50, went to join the Lord on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. She was born in West Chester, PA on December 22, 1970 to the late Shalor C. McCoy and Deborah Lee (Duckworth) McCoy.

Janice enjoyed going to yard sales, thrift shopping and collected various items. A country girl at heart, she liked listening to Gospel and Bluegrass music, often read the Bible, and loved the Lord. An excellent cook, Janice always hosted the family for the holidays or various gatherings, where she made sure that everyone got their favorite treats. She took care of everyone that would let her, but she found her greatest joy in her family. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren.

Janice is survived by her five children: Richard Hughes (Amanda) of North East, MD, Nicholas Hughes of Quarryville, PA, Crystal Castaneda (Randy) of Kirkwood, PA, Joshua Hughes (Amanda) and Melinda Hughes (Brett) both of Quarryville, PA; eleven grandchildren: Julian, Alaina, Janice, Wesley, Isaiah, Kiley, Mason, Gabriella, Jayden, Rosella and Carter, with another one on the way; seven siblings: Bonnie Mccoy of Wise, VA, Michelle Fields Honacker, VA, Bobbie Jo Laskowsy and Deborah Miller both of Kennett Square, PA, Cassie McCoy of Coatesville, PA, Stacey McCoy of Wise, VA and Shalor McCoy of Kennett Square; beloved dog, Pepper; and numerous extended family members.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie “Bud” Johnson.

A celebration of Janice’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Pleasant View Baptist Church, 150 Downin Ln., Port Deposit, MD 21904, where family and friends may begin visiting at 9:30am. Burial will follow at Oxford Cemetery.
