Janet Lynn (Eyet) Leaf, age 63, of Rising Sun, MD passed away on September 30, 2012.
Mrs. Leaf was born in Baltimore, MD on September 7, 1949. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Dorothy Eyet.
Janet was an Investment Operations Officer for Mercantile-Safe Deposit and Trust Company in Baltimore, MD for 30 years. Later in life, she used her talents as the banker for the family’s yearly yard sale.
Despite being diagnosed with a genetic lung disease in 1993, Janet never gave up and never complained, choosing instead to enjoy her life to the fullest. In June of 2009, she received a left lung transplant that provided her with over 3 years of easy breathing.
Janet’s greatest passion in life was her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with younger family members, most recently her great nieces and nephews. Her other interests included reading, taking tropical vacations, playing the slots, and driving fast. She had a fabulous sense of style and was a fashion inspiration to all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving daughter Samantha Leaf and her wife Carrie Smith of Washington, DC; sister, Judy Eyet-Lloyd and George Lloyd; brother, Jerry Eyet and Sue Eyet all of Port Deposit, MD; brother, Terry Eyet and Deb Eyet of Baltimore, MD; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews throughout Maryland and Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her extended family Gigi and Paul Zoltek and Charles and Stacy Lloyd and two great-great nephews, all of Pasadena, MD.
She joins her loving husband of 38 years, Kenneth Monroe Leaf, Jr. who preceded her in death.
