Janet Fay Dreyfus, age 80 of Newark, DE passed away on December 17, 2016. She was born on October 2, 1936 in York, PA to the late, Joseph John Alfano and Bertie Elizabeth (Mumma) Alfano.
Janet is survived by her husband of 60 years, Lawrence Dreyfus of Newark, DE; sons: Christopher Dreyfus and his wife, Robyn of WA, Michael Dreyfus of WA, and Paul Dreyfus and his wife, Cathy of Newark, DE; daughters: Rita Murray and her husband, David of Newark, DE, Laura Mrugalski and her husband Joseph of White Plains, NY, and Cheryl Strum and her husband, Eric of Reading, PA; seven grandchildren: Shawna, Jonathan, Meghan, David, Michael, Sam, and Sarah; three great-grandchildren: Ashlan, Brooklyn, and Everly; and brother, Joseph Alfano of York, PA.
A memorial service for Janet will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 12:30 PM at Life Community Church, 750 Otts Chapel Road, Newark, DE 19713. A visitation will be held one hour prior beginning at 11:30 AM. Burial to follow at the Delaware Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.

Jay and family - Janet was my 2nd cousin. We grew up together although she was closer to Barry's age than mine. Janet was a sweet girl and fun to be with. During our early years we were always at one another's homes since her mother's sisters all lived close together. As we grew older, married and had our own families, we mostly kept in touch through notes at Christmas, which kept us close. My prayers are with you during this time of sorrow.
