James W. Moore Sr.

James W. ‘Jimmy’ Moore, Sr. age 78, of North East, MD passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2011.

James was born on October 1, 1933 in West Virginia to the late Elvie Thornton Moore and Zela Marie (Daniels) Moore. He worked for General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1982. He was the owner of a used car lot in North East, MD, which he operated with his son, Steven. He was also a member of the UAW Local 435 and enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Janie P. Moore of North East, MD; sons, James W. Moore, Jr. and wife Julie of Schnecksville, PA and Steven A. Moore, Sr. and wife Dannielle of North East, MD; brother, Shirkey Moore of Elkton, MD; sister, Drema Clark of Elkton, MD; 11 grand children and 8 great grand children.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Irving.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 2, 2012 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911 where friends may call one hour prior. Burial will follow at Rosebank Cemetery in Rising Sun, MD.
