James Taylor “Jim” Tassell (68) of Elkton, MD, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022. Born in Waynesboro, PA on April 8, 1954, he is the son of Alma Elizabeth (nee, Barton) Tassell and the late James Paul Tassell and the devoted husband of the late Robin Lindsay.
Jim retired from the Newark Food Coop, where he worked as an Inventory Specialist. Prior to that, he had his own painting business and was a licensed realtor. Jim also was an accomplished musician in his younger days. As a percussionist, Jim had mastered every instrument from drums to Marocas and performed with Scoop as well as a number of local rock bands. His family shared that Jim would not want those who knew and loved him to mourn his passing with sadness, but to celebrate his life with a toast to a life well lived.
Jim is survived by his mother, Alma Tassell; mother-in-law, Joyce Lindsay, sisters: Ivy Benson (Bruce) and Holly Jackson; nephew, Andrew Benson; nieces: Ashley Tyzkowski and Erica Carey; faithful cat, Blazer and a multitude of family and friends.
