James “Pecker” W. Davis, age 69, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2018. Born in Elkton, MD on August 7, 1948, he was the son of the late William and Ruth (Simmons) Davis.
Pecker was a graduate of Elkton High School and served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After his service, Pecker was a cook at the Howard House for many years. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and the Baltimore Orioles, and he also enjoyed dancing, crabbing, listening to Elvis Presley, and could often be found hanging out at Joker’s Bar. Pecker’s most cherished moments were spent with his family and friends.
Pecker is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Johnson and her husband, Joseph, of Elkton, MD; son, Cody Davis and his wife, Lauren Rose, of North East, MD; daughter, Denise Petion and her husband, Bless, of North East, MD; son, Martin “Bumpy” Bouchelle of North East, MD; grandchildren: Carleigh, Kyla, Hailey, Milania, Izabella, Christian J, Christian R, Jamari, Jahcier, Alijah, and Xander; sisters: Elsie Poore and her husband, Gilbert, of Middletown, DE, Jane McCreary of North East, MD, Linda DiRubbio and her husband, Vince, of North East, MD, Carole Moore of North East, MD, and Ruth Ann Davis of Elkton, MD; and brother, Billy Davis of Elkton, MD.
In addition to his parents, Pecker is preceded in death by his twin brother, Johnny “Mallard” Davis and sister, Frances Burroughs.
A celebration of Pecker’s life will be held at 4pm on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where friends and family may visit beginning at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made payable to “Jennifer Johnson” to assist with Pecker’s funeral expenses and they can be sent in care of the funeral home.
