James Merriam Hise passed away peacefully in Elkton, MD on August 4, 2018 at the age of 83. He was born on February 12, 1935 in Ontario, NY. James served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
James, affectionately known as “Jim” is survived by his loving devoted wife of 33 years, Sherin and his four children Maria (Chris) Howley, Rita (Angelo) DiPlacido, James (Margaret) Hise, Lisa (David) Testa and Sherins’ three daughters Lynne (Anthony) Charlino, Karen Lunning and Sandra Bispels.
Jim is survived by brothers Gary and Reginald, and by sisters Roberta Daycock and Marilyn Osman. Jim is the beloved “Pop Pop” of: Lauren, John, Suzanne, Nicole, Laura, David, Samantha, Alyssa, Joseph, Julianna, James, Ray, David, Jesse, Jonathan, Danielle, Katie, Michael, Jack, Allison, and fourteen great grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his parents Judson W. and Marguerite L. Hise as well as his loving wife of 25 years Carmella A. Hise, brothers: John, Richard, Bruce, Ronald and Phillip.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church, 455 Bow Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where friends and family may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the “Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 7687” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
