So sorry to hear about the passing of Jim Maxwell. I was a new Assistant Professor at the University of Delaware back in 1974 when I met Jim who was doing research in vision with Allen Granda at UD. I didn’t have a lab when I started and Allen let me use his lab. I needed a computer for my work and Jim was a whiz with computers, electronics, and science in general. He was incredibly kind and patient with me and did a lot to get me started. We were close friends enjoying many canoe expeditions in the New Jersey Pine Barrens. I always thought of Jim as one of the finest people I have known. My deepest condolences to his family.

Extending my heartfelt condolences to the entire Maxwell family. I did not know Jim, but his daughter Jennifer is one of my favorite people, and I'm sorry for the heart ache his loss brings. I'm thankful for his life and contributions and hope he rests well.

Nick and I are so sorry to hear about Jim. We enjoyed many memories with him. He was a gentle person and was interesting to talk to. Memories flood my mind of your wedding and when you fell in love. The family things you shared with the 3 girls. May these memories comfort you during this difficult time.

There are not many constancies in our lives, but anyone that knew Jim knew that he was one--and a very good one. Jim and I were friends for over fifty years, and during that time he was always very kind, diligent, trustworthy and humorous. Having known Jim and been fortunate to spend a lot of time with him over the years was truly a blessing.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
