James “Jim” Gregory Waldspurger, age 75, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022. He was born in Doylestown, PA, on May 23, 1947 to the late James H. Waldspurger, and Agnes (Lowande) Waldspurger.
Jim graduated from North Penn High School. He went on to work in the transportation industry as a truck driver for many years. Later in life, he worked as a forklift operator and held other maintenance jobs. Jim was an all-around fun person. He was known to be a prankster and jokester, but he was always willing to lend a helping hand. Jim loved his trucks and motorcycles. He specifically loved Ford’s older Mustangs and Mavericks. He enjoyed going to the Cecil County Drag Strip to watch the races and watched NASCAR. His favorite driver was Bill Elliot. Jim also enjoyed boating and fishing in the local waters. He was always happy to cheer on his favorite football team- the Green Bay Packers. However, Jim’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 32 ½ years, Kathy J. Waldspurger; children: Lisa Marie Scharwtz, Cindy Roeder, Scott Moyer, Jean Moyer, Lori Jardell, and Dennis Moyer Jr. (Valerie); twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Waldspurger; and sister’s: Rita Roberts and Aggie Spots.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Waldspurger; brother, David Waldspurger; grandson, Daniel Jardell; and nephew, David Jokiel.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921. Family and friends may begin visiting at 10:00 AM. Burial will be private.
