James F. Golden Jr. (Jim) of Newark, Delaware passed away on May 7, 2022, at the age of 84. He was born in Wilmington, Delaware on December 4, 1937, to the late James F. Golden Sr. and Mary (Harrison) Golden.
Jim is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia L. Golden. They had two children, Sherri L. Bednash (husband, Sam) and Thomas A. Golden (fiancé Robin Laws). He has two grandchildren, Samantha Snyder (husband, Thomas) and Sara Bednash and a great grandson Jude Snyder.
Jim also had three children from a previous union, Deborah Zeccola, Christine Poore-Kotash (deceased) and Gary Golden. He is survived by his sister Shirley Agnor and brother Edward Golden (wife Nancy) and was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Golden. With such a large family there are many more extended family members who loved Jim.
Jim always enjoyed boating and the water. He and Pat owned a boat which they kept in Kent Narrows, Maryland for years going down each weekend to have fun on the water with family and friends. Jim worked on the heavy repair line at General Motors for 30 years retiring in 1992. After retiring, Jim and Pat bought a place at the beach in Lewes, Delaware. He enjoyed spending his summers there with his family and friends chatting over beers after fishing, crabbing, and tending to his vegetable garden. Every winter he looked forward to going with his friends to Potter County, Pennsylvania for a week of hunting.
A visitation for James will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 10:00 am at R.T. Foard & Jones Inc.,122 West Main Street Newark, DE 19711. Funeral Service will be held on May 12, 2022, at 11:00 am at R.T. Foard & Jones, burial will follow at Kemblesville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to, “Faithful Friends Animal Society” of Wilmington Delaware and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home P.O.
