James Dennis Davidson, age 66, of Chesapeake City, MD passed away peacefully on Friday, December 20, 2024. He was born on April 4, 1958, in Philadelphia, PA. Jim was the son of John William Davidson, and Marion Huckle Davidson.
Jim dedicated 25 years of his career before retiring working for Lion Ribbon, where he became a familiar face in the industry, selling ribbon to numerous clients including Longwood Gardens, the White House, local florists, and small shops. A true family man, Jim’s upbringing in a family-owned florist shop nurtured a deep appreciation for floral arrangements. His talent in this area became evident as he created beautiful arrangements that brought joy to many.
Beyond his professional life, Jim was an athlete at heart. He played basketball during his college years, showcasing his competitive nature. He continued to embrace an active lifestyle, enjoying workouts and engaging in his favorite sport of pickleball. A big fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Jim cheered his favorite players and celebrated every victory. He also had a love for watching romantic comedies.
Jim was the life of the party, a vibrant and energetic individual who commanded attention in any room he entered. His loyal nature meant he was always there for his friends and loved ones, ready to lend an ear or share a laugh. His infectious energy and charisma made a lasting impact on everyone who met him.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 8 years, Patricia Davidson; son, James Davidson; step children: Jake Mackay, and Georgia Mackay; sister, Janalyn Steinel (husband, Garrett Lardiere); and nephew, Rory Steinel (wife, JoMarie).
In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his brother, John Davidson.
A viewing will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 318 George Street, Chesapeake City, MD. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 15 East Green Street, Middletown, DE 19709. Burial will be held at St. Anne’s Cemetery.
