James Charles Pyle, 68, of Nottingham, PA, passed away at his home May 23, 2014 surrounded by love following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in West Grove, PA on March 11, 1946, Jim was the son of the late Clyde and Mary Hendrickson Pyle. He was a 1965 graduate of Oxford Area High School and was a member of the UAW, working at Chrysler for 36 years until his retirement in 2001. He then pursued his new career as a gentleman farmer on the family farm. He enjoyed woodworking and telling stories but his greatest joy was his grandchildren. Jim was a member of Moore’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
Jim is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lois Weaver Pyle; a daughter Kimberly Carew and her husband Christopher of Elkton; daughter-in-law Jessica Pyle of Harrisonburg, VA; 4 grandchildren, Grant, Keegan and Greyson Carew and Jillian Pyle; a brother, Robert Pyle and his wife Kathy and a sister-in-law Maria Pyle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Timothy Pyle and his brother, Clyde Pyle, Jr.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation to be held Thursday evening May 29, 2014 from 6-8:00 p.m. at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911 and a celebration of his life at The Farm on June 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Jillian Pyle Education Fund and mailed to the funeral home.
