James ‘Jim’ B. Farmer, 47, of Myrtle Beach died on Monday, December 12, 2011 at Waccamaw Community Hospital.
Born in Baltimore, MD, Mr. Farmer was the son of Mrs. Roberta Farmer and the late Bill Farmer.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Myrtle Beach.
Mr. Farmer was a 1982 graduate of Rising Sun High School in Rising Sun, MD and attended Harford Community College. He served in the United States Navy on the USS Roanoke and was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 92, Mt. Pleasant, MD.
Mr. Farmer worked for the Department of Defense at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Department of Defense Security at Edgewood Arsenal and was currently employed at Costal Carolina University Department of Public Safety.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Peggy Farmer; mother, Roberta Farmer of MD; sister, Michelle Farmer of MD; father-in-law, George P. Kirk of WV; brothers and sisters in law, George B. and Mari Kirk of WV and Brian and Elizabeth Morris of WV and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2011 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel, SC. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Colora, MD.
