James Atwood Eastburn, “Jim”, age 88, of Elkton, MD passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 7, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hockessin, DE on February 8, 1930, Jim was the son of the late Oliver and Eva (Hanna) Eastburn.
Jim was a commercial artist who owned and operated his family business, Eastburn Studio, Inc. with his wife, Rose. Although he was a talented artist and business owner, his passion in life was music. He had the American Country Band for nearly 40 years and absolutely loved singing and playing his guitar. He also enjoyed drag racing, camping and was a gifted craftsman. He was a veteran of the Korean War and held the rank of Sergeant. Jim had a tremendous sense of humor and could put a smile on anyone’s face. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rose Eastburn; five sons: Thomas Eastburn, John Tanzilli, (Beth), William Tanzilli, (Melissa), Jeffrey Eastburn, (Jaci) and Thomas Tanzilli. Jim is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; brother, Albert Eastburn, (Cindy) and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main St., Elkton, MD 21921. Family and friends may visit beginning at 10AM followed by a service at Noon.
Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the “Leukemia and Lymphoma Society” and sent in care of the funeral home.
