James Andrew Jordan, Sr. age 76 of Port Deposit, MD passed away on February 19, 2018. He was born on March 15, 1941 in Ripley, TN to the late William Andrew Jordan and Exie (Wright) Marrow.
James served his country for four years in the Air Force. Once he was honorably discharged, he worked as a painter at Chrysler in Newark, DE. James umpired softball for 20 years and was an avid player making it all the way through to the Senior Olympics. He was also a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Havre de Grace, MD and a volunteer fire fighter for Minquadale Fire Company for nine years. He coached Little League, Youth Group, and College Softball. James had a passion for the outdoors and avid hunter. He was active in scouting for over 35 years holding several positions in Boy Scouts Troup 143: Scout Master, Commissioner, Merit Badge Counselor, Eagle Advisor, Rifle Instructor, and Ranger. He was a Red Cross instructor for many groups and was an active NRA member.
James is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sharon Jordan; children: Andrea Clemm, James A. Jordan, Jr., and Bryan Jordan; siblings: JoAnn Bradford-Muse (David) and Clifford Bradford (Judy); and grandchildren: Paige Clemm, James A. Jordan, III, Eric Jordan, and Antonio (Halsey) Jordan. He was awaiting his first great grandchild, Madison in early March. James was loved by nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and multiple friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen Jordan; son, Andrew William Jordan; grandson, Tyler Austin Jordan; and son-in-law, Michael Edwin Clemm.
Burial will be held privately, however family and friends are invited to a celebration of James’ life which will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Hopewell United Methodist Church, 1811 Hopewell Rd, Port Deposit, MD 21904. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “Boy Scouts of America Troop 143” and sent in care of the funeral home: P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of jimmy. Being a fellow firefighter and friend of jimmy I took this as a shock. While it has been years since I have seen him, I will never forget him giving me a hard time and many of life lessons while at camp. He's helped me a lot on my progress to eagle and road to becoming the man I am today. I truly believe jimmy lived off the idea of if tomorrow wasn't a promise, what would you give for today. He was a great man and a great friend!
