James Andrew Jacoby, “Jim”, age 58 of Newark, DE passed away suddenly on February 17, 2022. He was born on December 3, 1963 in Camden, NJ to the late Edwin Mark Jacoby and Mary Theresa (McGrath) Jacoby.
Jim worked in the environmental field for over 30 years. Lastly working at Moran Environmental Recovery. His greatest joy was to watch his kids do the activities that they loved: Danielle performing with the color guard in high school and in college and watching Patrick play baseball at Canal, with his travel teams and in high school. He enjoyed attending Delaware Football games and watching the Philadelphia Eagles. Jim liked a good craft beer and visited many breweries. He also loved to golf and was passionate about cooking.
Jim is survived by his wife of 28 years, Tammy Jacoby; daughter, Danielle Jacoby; son, Patrick Jacoby; siblings: Mark Jacoby (Donna), Lynne Donahue (Tom), Anne Gibson (Vince), Bruce Jacoby (Monika), Richard Jacoby (Cathy), and Robert Jacoby; brother-in-law, Bill Grant (Linda); mother-in-law, June Stafford; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 11:00 AM at R.T. Foard & Jones, Inc., 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE 19711. Family and friends may attend the viewing beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
