Andersen; sons: Jarrett Andersen (wife, Katelin), and Jeff Andersen (wife, Bridget Morris); grandchildren: Jarrett Andersen, Jr., Winnie Morris, and Willa Morris; his siblings: Linda Jones (husband, Kyle), Debra Herrman (husband, Don), Nancy Nuzzolo (husband, John), Cynthia Ford (husband, Matthew), and Thomas Andersen.
In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his two sisters-in-law: Leslie Andersen, and Christy Andersen.
His early years growing up in the Brandywine Valley, spending his days exploring, fishing, bird watching, hunting and transplanting native plants to his garden, inspired his lifelong interest in the great outdoors. After earning a degree in Agriculture from the University of Delaware, he later went on to start his business, Andersen Home Services. He specialized in lawn and tree care and proudly served his customers for 30 years.
When not at work he was usually on his boat fishing around the Chesapeake or in Florida.
He cherished his time traveling to Florida, gardening, and carving decoys. A devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Jim’s love for the team was only surpassed by his love for crabs, a family tradition he intertwined with watching the Eagles games. Above all, Jim’s greatest joy in life was his family, particularly his grandchildren. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, sibling and friend, his warmth and humor will be deeply missed.
Services for Jim will be held privately. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made payable to, “American Kidney Fund” and sent in care of the R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
