James A. Lucas Pratt, Sr., age 59 of Elkton, MD passed away on December 8, 2021 at his home. He was born on June 1, 1962, in Elkton, MD to the late James Andrew Pratt and Marilyn Victoria (Lucas) Pratt-Hicks.
James graduated from Elkton High School in 1980 where he was affectionately known as “Dre” or “Big Luke,” and these names followed him throughout his life.
Prior to his illness, Dre was employed at Estes Express Lines in Elkton, MD.
Dre was a member of Harvest House Church in Middletown, DE for many years. He was a talented bass guitar player and sometimes played at his church.
He had a passion for fishing. Dre was very active and played numerous sports including golf, basketball, football, and Taekwondo. When he wasn’t playing sports, he was watching them. His favorite football team was the Miami Dolphins, and his favorite player was Dan Marino. Dre enjoyed working on his cars and loved Mopars. He also enjoyed watching old western movies.
Through the years Dre loved to share his athletic ability with his son and grandsons. He loved and adored them and shared how proud he was of them to family and friends.
Dre leaves to cherish his memory the love of his life Robin Lucas-Pratt for 31 years and 12 of those years married; Son, James A. Lucas-Pratt, Jr. (Michelle Catalano); Step-Father Willard Hicks, Sr.; grandchildren: Malachi A. Lucas-Pratt, Drayden C. Lucas-Pratt, Zander J. Lucas-Pratt, Angelina E. Lucas-Pratt, Aubrey V. Lucas-Pratt; sisters: Rochelle Pratt and Trina Pratt; brother, Windell “Timmy” Johnson; step siblings: Dinita Watson (Jarvis) and Willard Hicks, Jr. (Anissa); Six Sister in Laws; Four Brother in Laws; Special friends: Ricky Moore, Charles Henry and Jose Rivas; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Andrew Pratt, Mother Marilyn Pratt- Hicks; his maternal grandparents, James and Louise Lucas; paternal grandmother, Esther Mae Pratt; paternal grandfather, James Sewell; sisters; Tonya Pratt-Hall and Denise Johnson.
A celebration of Dre’s life will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 11:00AM at Abundant Life Church, 2744 Red Lion Road, Bear, DE 19701. Family and friends may attend the viewing beginning at 10:00AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “Harvest House Church” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
