Jacqueline Mason, 76, of Chesapeake City, MD, died Sunday, June 24, 2012. Born in Newark, DE on November 5, 1935, Jacqueline was predeceased by her loving, devoted husband, John William ‘Bill’ Mason, her parents, Alice and Jack Barrett and her sister Nancy Grant.
Jacqueline was unconditionally devoted to her family. She touched so many lives and so many people are greater for knowing her, and having experienced her kindness, thoughtfulness, beautiful smile, and Irish sense of humor. Jacqueline was ‘town mother’ and everyone knew they could count on her for kindness, love, encouragement and unconditional support.
Jacqueline is survived by her sister, Linda Cockerham nee Barrett, Boise, ID, her children, Cynthia ‘Deebee’ Fife nee Truskey, Plainfield, IL, Susan ‘Su’ Granville nee Truskey, Magee, MS, Danielle Fleagle nee Mason, Bear, DE, and Jon Mason of East Coventry, PA, and their spouses whom she loved as her own, Scott Cockerham, Kurt Fife, David Granville, Clyde Fleagle and Roger Osmun, seven grandchildren, Steven, Colette, Ryan, Jil, Derek, Ashlee, and Jenn; two great grandchildren, Victoria and Mason.
Jacqueline worked as a bookkeeper for MBNA, and then Allied Propane, in Elkton, MD, where she had many friends. Always challenging her mind, she remained an avid crossword fan and loved Jeopardy, cooking shows and the ‘judge shows’.
