Jack Thomas Brewer, age 79, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, September 29, 2023. He was born on April 12, 1944 in Cleveland, TN to the late Alma Ruth (Ball) Brewer.
Jack was proud to serve in the United States Navy. He worked many years for the railroad industry as a Crossing Technician before retiring. Jack had a love for electronics and spent a lot of time using his HAM radio. He was a history buff and loved reading about war history. Jack was very knowledgeable and a great storyteller. He had an exquisite coin collection and enjoyed traveling and flying. Jack’s greatest love was his family and his dogs, Trixie and Boo Boo. He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Lana Brewer; stepchildren: Preston Sumner (Cathy), Karen Knopp (Jack), Brenda Bradway (Frank), Kimberly Pyle (Frank), and William “Bill” Sumner (Loretta); step grandchildren: Jeremy, Amber, Amanda, Jacob, and Frank; step great-grandson, Rhodes; and brother, Charles Brewer.
In addition to his mother, Jack is preceded in death by his brother, Joe Brewer and stepdad, Donald Brewer.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Conowingo Baptist Church, 151 Rock Springs Road, Conowingo, MD 21918 where family and friends may begin visiting at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Conowingo Baptist Cemetery.
