John “Jack” Evans, age 74, of Chesapeake City, MD, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013 while surrounded by his loving family.

Jack was born November 7, 1938 to the late John and Marion (Bakeoven) Evans. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church of Chesapeake City, MD, the Chesapeake City Lions Club, and the Upper Eastern Shore Anglers. He was also a volunteer in helping take care of the cemetery at St. Rose of Lima. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing, and occasionally golfing, but he cherished spending time with his wonderful family and his beloved grandchildren.

Jack is survived by his loving wife, Anita L. Evans of Chesapeake City, MD; sons, Michael P. Evans of Elkton, MD and Brian T. Evans and his wife, Sherry of Elkton, MD; daughters, Susan M. Silver and her husband, Scott of Middletown, DE and Barbara A. Love and her husband, Jason of Gainsville, GA; five grandchildren, Eric and Rachel Silver, Blake and Dylan Love, and Jessica Gold; and one great grandchild, Abby Gold.

A service honoring Jack’s life will be held at 11am Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 318 George St., Chesapeake City, MD 21915. Family and Friends may visit beginning at 10am. Burial will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Season’s Hospice c/o the funeral home.

I remember every night after my shift I would see him as I was leaving and we would just talk about everything going on in life. I will miss that. But I will always have that memory.
