Jacalyn Ann (Care) Patterson, passed away Friday August 20, 2021. Born in Baltimore, Maryland November 14, 1951, Jacalyn was the daughter of Robert Frederick Care, Sr. and Phyllis Grace (Simmons) Care. She had two siblings, Georgianna (Care) Garvin and Robert Frederick Care, Jr. Jackie was predeceased by both parents and her sister.
Jacalyn is Survived by her husband, Arvon John Patterson, Jr., her daughter Melissa Marie (Patterson) Jenis Thompson (husband Brian), and her three grandsons, Matthew A Steward Jenis, Jacob A Jenis (wife Johanna), and Tristan C Jenis. She is also survived by her brother Bobby (wife Dianne), many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Jacalyn, known lovingly as Jackie, Mom and MeMe, was adored by all who knew her. She had a long career as a bookkeeper, to a prominent law firm in Baltimore, MD, and most recently at West Nottingham Academy, where she ultimately retired. The students at WNA considered her their school mom.
Jackie loved her family above all else in her life. Her most cherished memories were the many trips taken with her husband, daughter, and grandsons. Often these trips were camping. Two of her favorite places to go were the Blue Ridge Mountains and Gettysburg.
Jackie was an amazing cook and an avid reader. She was the go-to person to tell your secrets, share your life experiences, and look to for advice. Her smile was contagious, and her hugs were the warmest. She maintained a childlike enthusiasm throughout her life.
Jackie/Mom/MeMe, will be missed beyond words. The date for her celebration of life for this amazing woman will be decided in the near future. The family needs some time to recover first from the shock of her loss.
