Irvin W. Webb, Jr., 85, of North East, Maryland, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on June 10, 2024. Born in Quarryville, Pennsylvania on December 11, 1938, he was the son of the late Irvin Webb, Sr. and Ada Webb (née Shelton), and the devoted husband of 54 years to Jean Webb (née Smith).
Irvin’s early life was marked by his battle with Polio, a challenge he bravely overcame. His resilience and determination were evident throughout his life. Irvin worked as a barber for 20 years, where he was well-loved by his clients for his skilled work and kind personality. After his barbering career, he transitioned to the Aberdeen Proving Grounds, where he spent many years repairing small engines until his much-deserved retirement.
Beyond his professional life, Irvin was a man of many talents and passions. He was a talented artist, known for his intricate portraits drawn with colored pencils. His artwork brought joy to many and showcased his keen eye for detail and his patience. Irvin also had a green thumb and took great pride in growing vegetables in his garden, often sharing his bountiful harvest with friends and family.
Irvin found solace and joy in the great outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, spending countless hours enjoying the tranquility of nature. His love for the outdoors was a reflection of his peaceful and contemplative spirit. He was a member of the Church of Christ, where he was known for his kindness and his unwavering faith.
Family was at the center of Irvin’s life. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jean Webb; his sons, Amos Webb and Josh Webb and his wife Paula; his grandchildren, Brendan, Cam, Robert, Kerry, Cory, Kaydence, and Malachai; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and extended family members throughout Colorado and New Mexico.
Irvin was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, and his daughter, Kaye Meadows. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, but his memory will live on through the stories, art, and legacy he leaves behind.
In keeping with his wishes, all services will be private. Irvin’s family appreciates the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all.
