Irene B. (Walstrun) Ulmer, 82, of Elkton, MD passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014.

Born November 5, 1931 in Havre de Grace, MD, Irene was the daughter of the late Nelson and Rhoda Walstrun, Sr. Irene enjoyed sewing and shopping but her greatest joy was spending time with her wonderful family and friends.

Irene is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Francis Lee Ulmer; 8 children, Irving Sadler (Margie), Linda Gillis, Marion Bell (Clevie), Michael Sadler (Jenny), Lisa Holmes (David), Theresa Hilaman (Robert), Tammy Davis, and Danny Ulmer (Judy); 36 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren; and her sister, Joan Lipford. Including her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her 3 brothers, Nelson, John, and Raymond Walstrun; sister, Neoma Thompson; 1 son in law, Kenny Gillis; 3 grandchildren, Troy Sadler, Michael Sadler, and Jessica Hilaman; and 1 great grandson, Zachary Lowe.

Services for Irene will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 17, 2014 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main St., Elkton, MD 21921, where family and friends may gather beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Cherry Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.

To Mr. Francis, my sister Frances, miss Irene's children, family and friends. Miss Irene will be missed by a great many people. Our condolences to each of you especially mr. Franny and my sister Fran.

Sincerely sorry to hear of your Loss Francis & Family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this time of deep sorrow. I remember the loving and caring woman Irene was with all of her family. I have fond memories of her. Celebrate her life not the loss of her physical presence.
