Ida C. Cahall, 91, of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on March 20, 2014 at the home of her daughter.
Born in Bismarck, ND on May 7, 1922, Ida was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Lydia Zahn Kist. During the war, she worked at Triumph Industries but her primary vocation was as a homemaker. She was a life member of North East Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and the Chesapeake Beagle Club. She enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing and crabbing and will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Surviving are three daughters, Hilda McIntosh (Ronnie) of Elkton, MD, Penny D. Stewart (Charles) of North East, MD, and Jenny L. Robinson (Dale) of Elkton, MD; three sons, Noble F. “Sonny” Cahall, Jr. (Debbie) of AL, Leonard D. Cahall (Kim) of VA and Gene C. Cahall (Eileen) of SC; 13 grandchildren, Debbie DiVirgilio (Pete), Noble F. Cahall, III, Darlene Eachus, Leonard D. Cahall, Carol Cahall, Curtis Cahall (Theresa), Terry Allen, Christina Cahall, Christina Robinson, Shannon Allen (Christie), Richard Cahall (Breanna), Robert Cahall, and Travis Cahall; 9 great grandchildren; a brother Rudolph Kist of Elkton and her devoted friend Katherine Combs of Elkton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Noble F. Cahall, Sr.; two sons, Glenn and C. Marvin Cahall; granddaughter Dawn Robinson; 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
A service honoring her life will be held at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main St., Elkton, MD 21921 on Monday March 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at North East Methodist Cemetery.
