Dr. Hugo P. Silva

October 19, 1922 - July 24, 2012

Dr. Hugo ‘Doc’ P. Silva, age 89, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Lima, Peru on October 19, 1922 to the late Juan and Rosa (Renjifo) Silva.

Doc was a dedicated physician for over 31 years in the Elkton area. He enjoyed coaching soccer, painting, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Carol Silva of Elkton; daughters, Rosanna Gee and her husband Mark of Middletown, DE, Maria Elena Duobinis and her husband Vince of Elkton, MD, Anna Maria Mallin and her husband Sean of Ellicott City, MD; son, Hugo J. Silva and his wife Amanda of Elkton, MD; 8 granddaughters, Dustin, Brooke, Kacey, Kayte, Kali, Blair, Paige, and Alysa; and one great granddaughter, Reese.

Services will be held at Immaculate Conception, Bow Street, Elkton, MD on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 11:00 am. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or Amedisys Hospice, c/o R.T. Foard Funeral Home, PA, 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921.

Dear Emmy, I am so sorry to hear about your Dad's recent passing. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. From those years (long ago) that we played Little League softball through the sometimes challenging years of high school, both of your parents always demonstrated concern and kindness, not just to their own children but, to every child who crossed their path. I want to say thanks for everything. I was a classmate of your son Hugo all thru school. He will be truly missed. I enjoyed seeing either you or him every Sunday @ Northside Market & Deli when you came in for your Sunday paper.
