Hertha Rosina Maria Kessler (nee Gottscheer), born in Vienna, Austria, on April 29, 1910 to the late Raymond and Marie Gottscheer, passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 11, 2012 at the age of 101.
She was a teacher by profession, and taught in Vienna as well as in Manila, Philippines.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kurt L. Kessler who died in 1975. She is survived by her daughters, Ingrid K. Davidson and her husband Eugene of San Diego, CA; and Evelyn K. Barnes and her husband Roger of Newark, DE; 6 grandchildren, Kurt (Laura) of Flower Mound, TX, Robert (Holly) of New London WI, Edward of El Cajon, CA and Gregory Davidson of Murrieta, CA, And Jennifer and Eric (Jo Ann) Barnes of Newark, DE; and 6 great grandchildren, Christian, Nicholas, Andrew, Emma, and Audrey Davidson and Zachary Barnes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday January 16, 2012 at Holy Family Church, 15 Gender Road in Newark, followed by interment at All Saints Cemetery.
