Herbert L. Holley, Jr., 74, of North East, MD, passed away surrounded by his family, Saturday, September 20, 2014.
Born in Los Angeles, CA on July 31, 1940, Herbert was the son of the late Herbert L. Holley, Sr. and Martha (Freeman) Holley. Herbert spent his career in international business development. After retirement, he served in the transportation department of the Cecil County Public School System.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia Holley; daughters, Jill Holley and husband John of North East, MD, Robyn Holley and her partner Milly of Santa Fe, NM, and Jennifer McDonnell and husband Jamie of West Chester, PA; and brother Robert Holley and wife Janet of Summerville, SC. To his eight grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, he was a loving “FaFa”; Holley Bungo and husband, Bradley, Erin Hammer and husband Nick, Sarah Yale, Heather Yale, Meghan Yale, William Yale, Colin McDonnell, Riley McDonnell, Mackenzie Crawford, and Noah Bungo.
Along with his parents, Herbert is preceded in death by his brother, Grant Holley.
Services will be held at St. Mary Anne’s Episcopal Church in North East, MD.
In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted in his name by St. Mary Anne’s Episcopal Church, 315 South Main St. North East, MD 21901 (410-287-5522) for their service to communities in need.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I fondly remember Herb helping to get me my first job. I thought his job as a programmer was so exciting. I only lasted 2 days on that job, but I did wind up having a job in IT. I don't think I ever properly thanked Herb for his effort on my behalf.
