






































Herbert Irving Brown passed away January 5, 2021 beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Herb was born August 25, 1925 to Herbert and Sarah Lucinda (Crow) Brown in Newark, DE. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Robert and sister-in-law Dorothy and his sister Henrietta and brother-in-law Dan Mahan.
Herb is survived by his loving wife Nancy (Reed) Brown, son Herbert, Jr. (Kay) and daughter Virginia (Bill) Strow, seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and two nieces as well as a host of friends of all ages.
Herb was a longtime member of the White Clay Creek presbyterian Church where he and Nancy were married on March 4, 1949.
One of his goals was “to be retired longer than he was employed.” Herb retired after 30 years with the GM Boxwood Plant in 1978, surpassing his goal and being retired 42 years.
He and Nancy were founding members of the First State Corvair Club of Delaware and active members of The Brandywine Antique Automobile Club of America.

Due to COVID restrictions – Funeral Services will be private – Burial will be at Head of Christiana Cemetery on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at approximately 11:45 am.
