Henry Boyd Coulter, Sr., age 89, went home to be with our Lord at 7:55 p.m. on April 27, 2017. Born on October 16, 1927 in Conowingo, MD, he was the son of the late, James and Gracie Coulter.
Henry served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II. He lived most of his life in Rising Sun, MD and worked as a geodetic technician at Aberdeen Proving Ground until he retired in the late 1980’s. He was also a part time electrician. Henry was a man of great faith in his God and Savior Jesus Christ. He was always a testimony to all he met. He will be missed greatly by family, friends, and his church family.
He is survived by his brother, George Coulter and wife, Helen; sister, Ruth Shaw; sister-in-law, Ethel Jean Coulter; four children: Henry Coulter, Jr. and wife, Marisol, Eileen Ondra and husband, Dan, Jean Calcut, and Grace Renn and husband, Bob; nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and five step-great-grandchildren, all who he loved dearly.
In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert Coulter, and most recently, his wife of 64 years, Delores Coulter.
A celebration of Henry’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Newark Baptist Church, 6011 Telegraph Road, Elkton, MD 21921, with a visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at West Nottingham Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “CHOP – Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania” and sent in care of the R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., PO Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
