Helen Francis Graybeal, age 85, of Conowingo, MD, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at her home. She was born March 22, 1928 in West Jefferson, NC to the late Walter and Stella (Hurley) Johnson.
A home maker most of her life, and a profession she enjoyed most, she was known for the great cooking and baking that she did for her family and friends. And to her, family included all the friends of her son and grandchildren who came around and called her “Mom and “Granny”. Her passions included shopping, gardening, Sunday dinners, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Graybeal, Sr. of Conowingo, MD; grandchildren, Ronald Graybeal, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Mountain Top, PA, and Teresa Miller and husband Wendell of Friendship, NY; 14 great-grandchildren; and the numerous friends that often visited that she loved as her own.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Herbert, 3 sisters; Ruby Reynolds, Edna Owens, and Annalee Shekels 3 brothers; Paul, David, and Junie Johnson, and her beloved dog, Buffy.
A Service will be held 11AM on Friday, October 25, 2013 at R.T. Foard F.H., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911. Friends and family may visit 6-8 PM on Thursday, October 24, 2013 and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment following the service at West Nottingham Cemetery, Colora, MD.
