Haskell “Tracy” Broadus Hearn, age 85, of North East, MD passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 18, 2025. He was born on February 28, 1939, in Greenville, SC to the late Justice O. Hearn and Sylvia (Bobo) Hearn, and once lived in Hephzibah, Georgia.
Tracy was a loving father, a dedicated worker, and a loyal friend. He was a skilled electrician welder, contributing his talents to significant projects, including the National Baltimore Aquarium and the Harbor Tunnel. He took great pride in being part of such impactful endeavors. Tracy was a devoted member of the IBEW Local 24, where he shared his passion for his trade.
When he was not immersed in his work, he would often spend weekends watching NASCAR races or attending them in person. Additionally, Tracy was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, taking pleasure in motorcycle rides and working on cars and motorcycles. Hunting and fishing were another of his cherished pastimes, along with his remarkable collection of guns and coins. Tracy found joy in listening to the timeless music of Ray Price and Jerry Lee Lewis, during his spare time.
A man of faith, Tracy was a Christian who believed in the importance of community and connection. Tracy was not just a hardworking father; he was a devoted family man. His greatest joy came from spending quality time with his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and a heart full of cherished memories.
Tracy is survived by his children: Duane Hearn, Darin Hearn, Renee Patterson (husband, Jack), and Stacy Wilson (husband, Todd); grandchildren: Hannah Patterson, Tessa Wilson, and Reed Wilson.
Services for Tracy will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Tracy’s honor may be made payable to “St. Jude’s” or “Wounded Warriors”, sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
