Harvey Lee Tiller, 57, of Perryville, MD passed away Monday, November 11, 2013 at Christiana Care Hospital’s Hospice Unit after a lengthy illness.
Born December 19, 1955 in Havre De Grace, MD, Harvey was the son of the late James Monroe and Margaret Ann (Gleason) Tiller. Harvey graduated from Rising Sun High School, class of 1974 where he was an avid sports player, most notably, baseball. He went on to become a truck driver, working for several companies over the years. In Harvey’s spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, which was his pride and joy. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and his many friends.
Harvey is survived by his daughter, Carrie Tiller of Port Deposit, MD; sons, James Tiller and his wife, Tracy of Chesterfield, MI and Joseph Tiller of Rising Sun, MD; 3 grandchildren, Hannah, Alexis, and Aydan; sister, Diana Gwaltney and her husband, Charles D. of Earleville, MD; and many friends.
A service honoring Harvey’s life will be held at 11am Thursday, November 14, 2013 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911 where family and friends may visit beginning at 10am. Burial will follow at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to Diana Gwaltney to help with Harvey’s final expenses and sent to the funeral home.
