It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Dad, Grandfather “Pop” and Great Grandfather, Harold Edgar Myers, on April 26, 2025. Harold was born in February of 1937, in Norristown, PA, to the late Harold Earon and Gladys Loraine Myers. He grew up with his older sister, Joyce, in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland.
Harold met the love of his life, Helen Reph, in the spring of 1957, and the two would eventually marry on April 10, 1960, thereafter choosing to start their family in Newark, Delaware.
Harold began his life-long, dedicated career in the aerospace industry at the age of 17 with the former Thiokol Corporation in Elkton, MD, later retiring after more than 45 years as a lab technician. Harold also proudly served in the United States Air Force.
Over many years, the Myers home was a gathering place for family and friends, who often enjoyed swimming in the pool and enjoying their company in the beautiful yard that Dad meticulously maintained. Christmas feasts were always a fond memory for all family in the Myers home.
The family enjoyed numerous camping vacations up and down the east coast from Canada to Florida with church families and friends, which gave us such wonderful memories of fantastic campsites and roaring campfires, beach adventures and mountain hiking. Dad always had fun times teaching his three daughters to fish, ride bikes and play softball.
In later years, Harold and Helen enjoyed many years at their trailer at Tall Pines in Lewes with their faithful Beagle, Shiloh.
Dad could always be found reading the Sunday paper, working on his crossword puzzles, enjoying the birds and nature in his backyard, and plotting his next fishing excursion. Pop got such enjoyment when attending the numerous sporting events and school activities of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Harold was predeceased by his wife, Helen, in December of 2022. He is survived by their three daughters whom he cherished so much: Judi Myers, Cathy (Philip Nye) and Debra Myers. Harold is also survived by his special grandchildren: Jenny (Dustin), Matthew, Brandon and Jason; and his adored great-granddaughters, Alyssa and Quinn, who always lit up his face. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Richardson-Schoendorfer, and family.
Our family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to AccentCare Hospice for their wonderful care to Dad and guidance to our family over these last weeks, most especially to Taleah, Shane and Kyle. And special appreciation goes out to Tim for his never-ending prayers and friendship towards Dad.
All services will be private.
