Harold Dean Cook, age 83, of Port Deposit, MD, passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021. He was born in Rising Sun, MD on March 2, 1938 to the late Hubert Cook and Opal Estelle (Wheatley) Cook.

Dean proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1956-1960. He enjoyed boating and fishing, taking many trips with friends to Cape Hatteras. Dean was an avid NASCAR fan, whose favorite driver was Kyle Busch. He loved to attend drag races and car shows, and was always sure to see all the sports cars. Dean took great joy in woodworking, so much so, that he built and designed his own home. Additionally, Dean enjoyed live bluegrass music and would travel locally to find a live performance to enjoy.

Dean was survived by his son, Brandon Cook; daughter, Karen Cook (Mike Swaim); two sisters: Marsha Caviston (Joe) and Margo Silveira (Tony); and companion, Flora Cook.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30AM on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Bel Air Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 809 Rock Springs Road, Bel Air, MD 21014.

I served with Harold (1956-1960) at Barksdale AFB, Shreveport louisiana! This was at the height of the cold war and our SAC wing spent a lot of time on TDY around the world playing war games! Harold was as fine a man as I have ever known! What we would call a salt of the earth individual! Prayers for family and friends! May God blessceach and grantvthem his healing peace!

I do not to where to begin when remembering Cookie. Cookie was a great guy to work with an be around. When I knew I would be working with Dean it made work so great to go to. My wife an I send our condolences to his family. Jerry Eckman

Dean was a great guy. I worked with him for many years at conowingo & muddy run. When I started there in 1967 his father Hubert was my boss, also a great guy. RIP buddy.
